Nokia Corp's outgoing chairman Jorma Ollila said Thursday
"The transformation period is truly painful. ..."
I have one question for this ... "After the transformation, how will Nokia be different from Samsung, LG, HTC etc ?"
The way I see it, the following is Nokia's competitive position
I think even the most biased of Nokia fan's will realize that Nokia, after transformation, will be in a worse position than Samsung will be. Is Samsung the only competitor? IMO, LG and HTC are also in this category. So this posting is not about whether Nokia took the right decisions or whether there were alternatives to that decisions. This posting is about the aftermath. After this painful transformation period where
- much of Nokia's workforce was retrenched
- Nokia lost much of the value of its shares
- lost that part of its reputation that stood for cutting edge technology
Nokia will be in an even worse position than its competitors!
