Learning while teaching

There is nothing more important than learning from your peers. I have not only used my colleagues for a sounding board, but also watched them teach to learn how others approach the difficulties I encounter in my classroom. When I was teaching in a brick and mortar school, I used Google sites so students could find the problem of the week, handouts, the latest assignments, their journals, and links to helpful websites such as my portaportal or their related textbook sites. Now that I am teaching online, I use the vast websites available to my students to enhance the material in the courses themselves. Part of using technology is realizing that the web provides us with the information we needs; we just need to know how to find it.
