The Gematriah of the letters of the word Chanukah when spelled out fully (ex, Ches = Ches, Yud Saf; Nun = Nun, Vav, Nun; etc…) equals the Gematriah of the word “Turoom” (Taf, Reish, Vav, Mem) which means “raise up.” We find the word Turoom in the Shemoneh Esrei in the Bracha of Es Tzem when we say “V’karno tarum bishuasecha” (May You, Hashem, speedily cause the offspring of Your servant, Dovid, to flourish, and raise up his pride through Your salvation).
The Bnei Yissaschar explains that because of the relationship between the words Taroom and Chanukah, we see that through the miracle of Chanukah, the pride of Dovid (the Jewish people) was raised to a place of honor in the world.

The Roshei Teivos of “Chanukah” could be interpreted as standing for the following phrase:
Ches Neiros U’vachodesh Kisleiv Haschalason
There are 8 candles, and in the month of Kisleiv is their beginning (ie, the beginning of the kindling of the candles on Chanukah).
