Main Road

At the time of the 1826 Enclosure Award what is now Main Road was called the Village Street. At some time it was also known as the High Street. Up to at least 1982 the road was known as Main Street.

The houses are spaced out. As one travels northward from the southern end of Main Road, on the east side, there are houses at 2, 6, Hill Farm, 10, 12, 26, 30, and 40. On the west side, it is 15 (known as Briar Close), 17 (called The Orchard and occupied by C. T. Bloomfield in 1961 and R. G. T. Bloomfield in 1973), 37, 41 (occupied by H. Bates in 1972), and then 45.

No.44 was known as Greys Farm in the 1960s.
