Information Boards
At the Little Gransden Parish Council meeting on 2 March 2017 it was agreed to fund the provision of information boards around the village and a sub-committee was set up to pursue this aim. After much hard work by the Parish Council and parishioners the boards were installed in June 2022. In celebration a guided tour of the Village Trail was held on 18 and 19 June 2022.
Seven locations were identified for the information boards on the Little Gransden Village Trail, namely:
Little Gransden Village Hall (3word address ///regret.output.subway);
Main Road (3word address ///scuba.different.nicely);
The Leys and Church Walk (3word address ///emeralds.finishers.puppets);
The Woods and The Farms (3word address ///quibble.skies.gourmet);
Church Street (3word address ///cheat.slack.graceful);
Home Dole (3word address ///represent.flexed.mild);
Gransden Lodge Airfield (3word address ///never.decorated.thinking).
The Little Gransden Village Trail has been constructed virtually linking all the information boards together. The Trail covers about 3.7 miles (6 km).
Each information board is identified by a yellow marker on the map along with the Little Gransden Village Trail. Clicking on the map at the foot of this page opens Google Maps with more detail. Then if you click on any of the yellow markers the text on the information board is revealed. You could print the Little Gransden Village Trail map if you wish to walk with it in hand.
Alternative what3words locations are provided above which can be scanned in the app. If you are on the Trail it could be simpler to copy and paste the 3word address of the next board, rather than scanning from within the app, and seek directions to the next board using Google Maps.
