Grounds Committee Proposal (Adopted by Board)

Post date: May 13, 2015 12:05:19 AM

The Grounds Committee proposed the following that was adopted by the Board on May 11, 2015:

1) All ground cover at the Kinney Village Phase I entrance will be removed and a desert scape, including strategic rock placement for visual beauty and to camouflage the light standards, will be completed by the landscapers.

2) All ground cover around townhouses will be removed to protect all residents from the threat of snakes during the hot summers.

3) The Landscaper will begin a plant "renewal" process, which will be supervised by the Complete Landscaping supervisor, who will help identify plants/trees needing renewal. This may include replacing water hungry plants and sidewalk damaging trees with more drought tolerant plants and trees that are more community friendly.

4) The landscapers will transplant various agave plants and other plants as identified to barren areas on Treasure Cove Loop and in Phase 2.

5) The landscapers will be advised to plug all irrigation heads that have no plants located within the vicinity.

6) Any owner wishing to install plants MUST submit an Architectural Modification Request form indicating where the plants would be planted and that the choice of the plants will be under the definition of "drought tolerant", as outlined on a Tucson approved list.

7) If owner installed plants, including trees, cause damage to common areas or require expenditures of the HOA for maintenance and/or repair, the owner will be billed by the HOA for all associated expenses.

The Committee's aim is to change the landscaping to indigenous plants that are not "water hungry" and will be visually attractive in common areas. The Committee recommends that this process take place over the next several years. No owner plantings will be removed without owner involvement when possible.
