Capstone Project

The University of Illinois M.Ed. program culminated in a Capstone Project, which sought to apply the concepts learned in the program in a meaningful manner within my current profession. There is no doubt that in my case, it did.

For my capstone project, I developed a basic operational hydrology course localized to the NWS office in Huntsville, Alabama. I identified the training needs that should be included in the course through polling current and former NWS interns and student employees, and then developed course content in a five-module course deployed in the open source LMS environment Moodle.

As I no longer work at NWS Huntsville, I no longer have this course deployed. However, I do have the course saved and can arrange for Moodle access to display it if needed.
