Well, the first week is starting to draw to a close, and has it ever been a whirlwind. I think signing up for -- and then aborting -- the September class actually has benefitted me, because I somewhat knew what to expect coming into this. I have found studying the history of e-learning this week to be quite fascinating. I had no idea that its U.S. origins could be traced to the Chautauqua Institution, a place I pass by every year on my way to see relatives. Maybe this year, I'll stop by there and take a look around -- if there's something interesting going on at the time.
I have really enjoyed reading the biographies of my classmates. It's interesting to see our varied backgrounds, and how we each hope to use what we learn here within our respective professions.
As I type this, I just caught a glance of the little "counter" gadget I placed on my e-portfolio, showing only 50 days until the last day of class. And we've only just started! It's just a reminder of how quickly this is all going to go.
