EPSY 408 - Learning and Human Development with Technologies

EPSY 408, Learning and Human Development with Technologies, was another course that provided me with exposure to completely new subject matter. Although its basis is as a psychology course, as part of an eLearning program, it was about much more than that. The course topics included exposure to behavioral, cognitive, social cognitive, and other learning theories, but also included integrating those learning theories with learning technologies. A wide variety of assignments were used to help in the learning process, including essays, discussion postings, a group discussion, and a final project and presentation. You can see all of the assignments below, along with links to some of the learning technologies myself and my classmates found during the course.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, students should be able to

• Understand development theories and distinguish among theoretical perspectives.
• Analyze a variety of factors that influence learning in various contexts.
• Explain how learners from different time periods have adapted to learn using different technologies.
• Synthesize learning theories and adopt them to evaluate web-based learning technologies.
• Construct a variety of e-learning environments that are appropriate for diverse learning contexts and learners.
