Part 1: Salary

To understand which variables are associated with salary, I first ran regressions to assess whether age and/or number of years at the company predicted salary. Neither of these were significant, and their correlations were pretty low. I know this is likely an artifact of the management position, so I've plotted those trends with and without the manager's salary. As you can see there is a spike for 2 years of employment when the manager's salary is included, and in the intercept and slop changes slightly. I then decided to then look at gender and work type separately. While the F-test for work type suggested there are significantly unequal salaries across work type, there was not a significant difference when comparing means of males versus females. However, a simple chi-square test revealed there is a difference in gender distribution across work type, although this is likely driven by the sole female manager. So I decided to exclude gender from the final bar chart, as the other job types appear to have a fairly even gender distribution.
