My Goals: Practice PATIENCE and KINDNESS.
I LOVE FAMILY, FRIENDS, DANCING, SINGING, CATS, and Teaching anything I know: math, dance, organization, etc.
A huge passion of mine is dancing. I do Israeli dancing a lot, and lead/teach a session in San Diego! I think music makes for a better world! I love to get out and be wild when it comes to dancing. I don't worry about technique; I simply love to get up and dance. My husband likes to dance too, so I'm grateful for that! My kids and husband all play instruments, and I am thinking of picking up the guitar again. My sons each earned a bachelor degree in Music, and one earned a Masters of Music. My daughter earned a Bachelors in math and a teaching credential, and is teaching Geometry at a charter high school. My husband teaches math at Palomar College.
I also love to sing, and am in the Shabbat Unplugged Band at Temple Solel.
I earned my B.A. in math and my single subject teaching credential at UC Santa Barbara. After teaching 2 years at my alma mater (Vista High school), I was accepted in the Masters in Math program at UCSD, but deferred my work to take a year of computer science classes at National University. During that time, I was offered and taught three math classes at Palomar College, which led me to the conclusion that I wanted to teach full time at the community college level. I continued to teach at local colleges while in grad school, and earned my M.A. in Applied Math in 1986. A year later, I was offered a full time position at MiraCosta College while on my honeymoon! I am very grateful I had this job! I retired at the end of Spring 2019, but taught a class in both Spring 2020 and Spring 2021 as a part time teacher.
I believe everyone can learn and do mathematics and be good at it, especially if they have the will and time and good instruction. They can learn to love it too. Math is logical, fun, amazing, beautiful, and interesting! I want to share my love and knowledge of math with others, as well as make math accessible, understandable and fun for all.
I have been happily married since July 5, 1987, have three beautiful children, a wonderful, supportive husband and extended family, and great friends. I love cats. We fostered a mama cat and her three kittens in May 2016, and adopted all of them. My husband made a cool cattio and outside Catopia for them where they can go in and out of the house whenever they want, but are isolated from outside the boundaries we set for them. I also have some of my home movies of family and friends on this site.
Dance when you have the chance!!! You'll feel happy! Peace to all!
