Google Analytics is one of the most used tools on websites to track which pages people visit, how they move through my website, and how long they stay, among other things. This is possible as soon as I place the code for Google Analytics in my website.
I have installed Google Analytics and then what? There are a lot of analyzing possibilities in Google Analytics. I can lose my way in data of my website in Google Analytics. How do I extract the most important ones for my website (read company/turnover) and can I see them immediately? Google Analytics has Dashboards for this. With Google Analytics I get a beginner’s dashboard with charts and tables about my website for free. This is not enough to get a complete picture of the visitors to my website.
I can store 12 graphs, figures, or tables in each Dashboard. I can make these myself or hire someone to do this. Before I start, make a clear plan what I want to measure and what the purpose of my website is. I should have a business plan or project plan and translate this to the statistics I want. When my website is my marketingtool it is best to look at the figures once a month/quarter/half year/year depending on how important my website is for my sales. This allows me to better evaluate projects and adjust progress and turnover if necessary.
If I am working on a project with several people or if I want to share the website with others, I can email the dashboard to others or have Google automatically send a periodic PDF report. These reports work for a year (I choose the frequency) and then it has to be renewed. The mailing is done in the same way as a newsletter. So I can always unsubscribe.
