WordPress is one of the easiest for building a website. Any layman can build a simple website with (a little) perseverance and frustration. The only question is, is building it myself worth the frustration? Is it indeed cheaper? It depends on….
Do I want a simple website or a complicated one?
Don't have any assignments with close deadlines in my field?
Do I have enough time to dive into something new to me?
Do I have a feeling for how computer programs work?
Do I like figuring out and puzzling?
Am I eager to learn in the technical field?
Am I frustration resistant?
Do I have patience?
Do I know exactly what the layout of my website will look like?
How do I get good reliable plugins and themes?
Have I already written out the content?
Selected photos I want to use?
Have I thought about which social media I will use?
How will I maintain the website?
Who can I turn to with questions if I can't figure it out?
Do it, if these questions don't scare! But in all other cases….. Stick to the field known and have the website built by someone with knowledge of WordPress. Or in case of a more complicated website, there are also developers for websites such as bol.com, Hema and Amazon.
