This is a nice place to camp. There are a lot of non-established camp sites with rock fire rings. You might have to look to find them. This is a popular place and there are a lot of four wheelers and snowmobilers in the winter. Most of the area is closed to regular vehicles in the winter until memorial day, but open to snow mobiles and 4 wheelers. We went there on June 13 and most of the sites were filled. But we were able to find a nice secluded one in a grove a trees by going through a rail fence. But, the 4 wheelers were noisy and kicked up some dust.
To get there go north on I15 to the first Brigham City exit and go east on highway 91 & 89. Take the first Mantua exit and go 0.6 miles to main street and turn right. Main street changes to Willard Peak Road. About 2.5 miles up the canyon the pavement ends and another half mile up is a gate that is closed in the winter (until Memorial Day) and a small parking area. There is an opening large enough for snowmobiles and 4 wheelers only, but open to normal vehicles in the summer. There are a couple small areas to camp just before the gate, if you turn off on a couple dirt roads going down on the left. Double click on photo on left and see blue circle. But, they are downhill and you might get stuck in the winter.
About a mile past the gate you come to a large open area on the left called Doc Flat. There are a lot of places to camp there; the better ones are up in the trees at the south end. There are more secluded sites further up the road. Double click on photo on right to see these areas circled.
Just another 0.2 miles up the road is another large open area for several groups to camp on the right (above photo). Another half mile up the road there are several roads taking off to the left with some more camping areas, such as this one:
I drove further up the road and only found one small spot within a reasonable distance. The road came to a fork and I once took the left one going down and there was mostly cattle grazing areas. The road to the right goes up to Willard Basin. There are some camping spots up there but it is a terrible and steep road and not recommended except for ORV's or 4WD vehicles and with no rain in the forecast. Do not attempt with a trailer.
For our cycling merit badge we brought our bikes and rode them down to Mantua and rode around Mantua Reservior on a nice trail that goes all the way around it and then headed down the canyon through Brigham City out past the Forest Street I15 exit to the Bird Refuge Visitor's center.
It was a lot of fun.
