Bonneville Shoreline Trail, North Layton

¼ hr + 15 min hike

This would be a great little place to camp in the spring or fall. It is right off the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. You might get your feet wet in the spring crossing the creek (North Fork Kays Creek). There is room for a couple troops to camp on either side of the trail.

To get there, turn east off of highway 89 where Hobbs Creek Drive intersects with highway 89. Head northeast on Valley View Drive. Eventually you will see a parking lot on the left that is designated as Shoreline Trail parking. The trail-head is just below and across from the parking lot. Head east up the trail then it turns south and heads down and crosses the creek. The red line shows the new trail. You could have someone drop you off at Shoreline Circle to save going uphill for a few minutes, but there is no parking allowed there.

Heading south on the trai,l after going through the creek, you will come to a nice clearing with a fire ring on the right.

If by some chance there isn't enough room, there is another spot marked on the map below. Head further south down the trail and take the second trail going down hill until you come to a flat spot on the right. It isn't near as nice as the first one, but will do. All of the area below this area is private property, so there is no other easier access.
