Film 13 Hours In A Warehouse
I was pretty scared before I did that scene.
I knew I was perfectly safe, of course, but I was very nervous about having my hands
tied above my head with the wooden gag in my mouth. Crist Ballas, the F/X artist,
had shown me two different sizes we could use, and I thought the bigger one looked
scarier. But once he had it made, and I put it on, I realized I couldn't swallow.
When I had it on, my mouth would fill up with saliva, and saliva actually really
freaks me out! I figured out how to take it off my head and let it hang over my neck
without unbuckling it. I would always do that between takes so that I could stop
drooling for a moment and relax my jaw. But I couldn't do that with my hands above
my head. Dav made sure it was okay, and he made it clear that I didn't have to go
through with it if I didn't want to. But I did want to, and I was very pleased with
the way it turned out.
