Ms. Jeffreys appeared truthfully perplexed when she said, “I go to these things where you sign pictures. You know them, don’t you? The pictures with Bela Lugosi leaning over me, and I’m gagged and bound. [Audience laughs.] I don’t understand why they would like that! But they do!”
