It was a very different experience than working on the big-scale LIGHTNING THIEF, which called on her to work with very different kinds of FX. “I went from a movie where everything was live, I was really tied up, I had blood all over me, to a movie where a lot of things weren’t actually on the set,” she says. “It was a huge Chris Columbus film with greenscreen and a five-and-a-half month shoot and a huge budget, and it was a fantastic experience. I think doing BEREAVEMENT actually helped with that, because it helped me get rid of any inhibitions that I had as an actor. One of my big problems was nerves, and being able to do that movie and push myself to the limit helped in that area, because I realized it’s OK to embarrass yourself and lose your mind in a role a little bit.
