Liv Tyler: Something really kind of magical happened, in a way. Especially in the scene at the end, where there was so much leading up to that and there are no mirrors or gimmicks. There was no tricks, there is nothing. It is very bleak. It's just us tied to those chairs. And we were really tried to those chairs and we couldn't even get up. If we had to go to the bathroom they had to untie us, and then really tie us in again. And it was a very scary thing to have happen. I think that we were all really nervous about what would happen, and how it would go. I remember that we just started to do it, and we did a couple of takes — but the takes were fifteen minutes long, I guess, and so it became very real. I don't know how to describe it better.

Hollywood actress Liv Tyler spent a day tied to a chair with a ball stuffed in her mouth while filming for her new thriller movie 'The Ledge'.
The 33-year-old was made to do so for a scene in the movie and says she was thrilled to do something like this, reported Contactmusic.
"I'd been there all day in this chair with the ball in my mouth and tied to the chair for Patrick. That said, I kind of liked it. Is that weird? Not in a sexual way!," Tyler said.
"Obviously when you're acting, the more real something can be and the more in the moment you can be, the better," she added.
The actress stars opposite Patrick Wilson in the movie, who plays her religious fanatic husband.
"There was quite a hard day because this whole production was a very small budget and we didn't have many days. The subject matter was quite intense and dense and quite tricky to navigate," she said.
LT: To be honest, Matthew [Matthew Chapman, the director] and I did not get on that day. And I may have screamed at him! Not screamed at him, but I might have gotten angry with him at one point that day.
How come?
LT: Because I sat literally for six hours bound in that chair, with that thing in my mouth! And it was so not fair in a way, to me. I was really mad about that!
So you were literally tortured, to do that scene!
LT: Yeah! But with a small movie like this, there's no such thing as overtime. Or, you have to walk away. So it's really hard sometimes.
