Thanksgiving Day Menu 2012

Appetizers:

• relish tray with veggies and blue cheese dressing
• cucumbers
• red peppers
• broccoli
• cauliflower
• celery
• carrots
• sweet pickles
• bread and butter pickles
• green olives (queen-sized Spanish olives)

Main meal:

• turkey
• stuffing
• mashed potatoes
• gravy
• cranberry sauces (whole berry and jellied)
• green bean casserole
• broccoli casserole
• rolls

Dessert:

• apple pie (2)
• pumpkin pie
• pecan pie
• vanilla ice cream
• Cool Whip

Thanksgiving Day Schedule

(We are aiming for dinner between 2-3 p.m.; Laura is coming over to help; the boys are going to play golf and should be back by 1:30 p.m.)

I baked the pies on Wednesday. (I made the pecan first, then the pumpkin; while they were baking, I peeled, cored, and sliced the apples and got the apple pies prepared for baking.)

I am bagging the turkey, which is supposed to take between 3 and 3 1/2 hours. I have to leave time for setting (15 minutes), cutting it, and making the gravy (30 minutes?).
