The International Communist Seminar
About the ICS (International Communist Seminar), WPB (Workers Party of Belgium - PVDA, PTB) and KKE
About antagonist contradictions converning political line and (revolutionary?) strategy and about "contamination" of opportunism....and revisionism. Read the (downloadable) document here
About the 20th ICS and her "General Conclusions" subscribed by ALL the participating communist(?) parties
Each year a gathering of communist parties and orgnisation all over the world is organised by the WPB in Brussels.
(see www.icsbrussels.org )
But in fact as I will prove this is a gathering of organisations – I will give the example of the Greek KKE- seriously “contaminated” by opportunism (dogmatism, eclecticism, empirism) and some organisations are totally lost in revisionism and are in fect transformed in REFORMIST (so objactively BOURGEOIS) organisations. Of the last ones I will give the example of the WPB. The other organisations are part of one of those two catagories. I will take the example of the “General conclusions” which are approved by ALL the participating organisations. In a sequence of articles I will prove their opportunism.(Read further here)
Dear,
I am sending you (or your organisation) this letter/mail, because somehow you are presenting yourself (or your organisation) as “communist” or “revolutionary” or “applying Marxism” (or scientific socialism or dialectical and historical materialism....).
Well, I consider myself also as such.....(read further here)
Dear,
I sent you the following letter/mail (in fact the second one..). Perhaps your organisation is participating yearly to the International Communist Seminar. When your organisation is not in anyway linked to the ICS, probably I found you on the Internet .....(read further here)
About the 22nd meeting of ICS in 2013
The WPB/PVDA/PTB deleted her own history in order to HIDE the contradiction “revolutionary ideology/reformist ideology”.
The International Communist Seminar was/is an initiative of the WPB/PVDA/PTB taken probably by Ludo Martens, who was then the president of the WPB. Until shortly it had its website icsbrussels,be, which does not exist anymore. Now a new website is installed www.icseminar.org . But a lot of the older reports, declarations have disappeared..... In fact ALL WHAT IS OLDER THAN 2008 (the year of the 8th congress of the WPB in 2008!) has disappeared! (read further here)
On her website of the International Communist Seminar1( http://www.icseminar.org) is said:”Since 1992, the International Communist Seminar (ICS) gathers communist and workers' parties and organisations from the whole world.” Previous ICS-meetings still combined the analysis of the actual situation with how the communist parties could grasp the situation in order to make strategical steps towards socialist revolution...
In 2013 the subject of the ICS-meeting was: “The attacks on the democratic rights and freedoms in the world capitalist crisis. Strategies and actions in response.”(read further here)
Although the subject to discus about on the 22nd meeting of the International Communist Seminar (Brussels, May 31- June 2, 2013) and about which the contribution of the participating Communist parties and organisations, was LIMITED to “The attacks on the democratic rights and freedoms in the world capitalist crisis. Strategies and actions in response”, the KKE had not intention to limit the formulation of her “strategies and actions” just “in response of the attacks on the democratic rights and freedoms”.
In contrary, she places the “attacks on democratic and freedoms” in the cadre and context (and is making it CONCRETE instead of speaking in formal and general terms) of “the strategy for the reinforcement of the bourgeois class in the entire capitalist world in conditions of prolonged capitalist crisis”(read further here)
This year from May 31 till June 2, the International Communist Seminar (an initiative of the WPB herself more than 20 years ago) gathered in Brussels to discuss about the (by the WPB?) chosen subject “The attacks on the democratic rights and freedoms in the world capitalist crisis. Strategies and actions in response”.
It is metaphysics to present one aspect of the overall strategy of the bourgeoisie, to increase continually the level of exploitation, to wage sharp competition in order to win (temporarily) the struggle over the remaining market, over the ownership the most modern and productive capacities (and over the destroying the lesser productive and older, lesser competitive capacities “needed” to sell to the market (the billion possible consumers who have an income to buy), the incapability of imperialism to fulfil the social and vital NEEDS of the WHOLE humanity (7 billion).(read further here)
The European Communist Meeting (1,2 Oct. 2012)
On 1 and 2 October this year (2012) the KKE organised a European Communist Meeting in Brussels for to find a unified point of view on the following subject: “Assimilation or rupture? The illusion of the pro-people management of capitalism and the struggle of the communists for the interests of the working class and popular strata, for the overthrow of capitalism, for socialism.”(read further here)
Where the KKE (see other article) perhaps hoped to get good discussions and ideological struggle and so to come to one unified revolutionary strategy in which the coming revolutionary struggle for change in Greece could be placed and where the struggle of the rest of the European workers could be defined (seeing the European workers as one and the Greek workers as a part of them... and the revolutionary change in Greece just as the begin and as a part of the revolutionary struggle of all European workers for the change of power in whole Europe.... the most parties did not went into discussion and just presented their views and programs of activities.(read further here)
My opinion is that a lot of Communist Parties, also those who participated to this meeting, and also when they are to consider as authentic communist parties defending their revolutionary ambitions, are “contaminated” with some ideological opportunism (mostly -as I should say – with forms of dogmatism and eclecticism). And - as I see it - that opportunism makes them “blind” for real revisionist developments (revisionism is a bourgeois ideology formulated in Marxist-sounding phrases) (Read further here)
On 1 and 2 October the KKE organised a European Communist Meeting. I made my comment about the initiative itself (here), I commented the “contribution” of the WPB (PVDA/PTB) here and the (at least those in English) contributions of some of the participating parties here.
I think at the end one can detect a contradiction between the attempt to develop (with discussion, study and ideological struggle) a revolutionary strategy (as the KKE for example is doing, but also some other parties in the ECM.....) and the attempt to submit the parties of the ECM to a REFORMIST “strategy (using some existing points of opportunism in a pseudo-Marxist reasoning).(Read further here)
The European Communist Meeting, 30 September 2013
On 30 September 2013, there was an European Communist Meeting in Brussels, organised by the KKE with as theme: “The role of the communist and workers’ parties of Europe in order to strengthen the struggle of the working class and popular strata against the EU and the strategy of capital, for the pro-people way out from the capitalist crisis, the overthrow of capitalism, socialism”.
The Workers Party of Belgium - WPB (PVDA/PTB) – apparently still recognised as a Communist Party in international circles had a “contribution”: “The crisis of capitalism and the 'Working Class Recovery' ”(read further here)
In Brussels 30 September 2013, on initiative of the KKE an “European Communist Meeting” (ECM) was organised.(...)

Discussion
On the initiative of the KKE the “International Communist Review” was founded in 2001. In that year the 1st Issue was made (and published on the website) Now is published on that same website the 2nd Issue. As well in the 1st as in the 2nd Issue the first contribution is made by cadres of the WPB (PVDA/PTB) So one can say that the WPB is considered as an important contributor of valuable Marxist and COMMUNIST analyses. For me it is obvious that there exists a blindness to real revisionist developments as it happens before the eyes of themselves considering as watchful observers.(Read further here)
The Greek Communist Party, the KKE took the initiative of the “International Communist Review". In the EDITORIAL of the first issue of the «INTERNATIONAL COMMUNIST REVIEW» is said:
“(T)he “International Communist Review” expresses the necessity of cooperation among theoretical and political journals of Communist Parties that have common positions on a series of fundamental theoretical and ideological issues.... (...), the defence of the principles of Marxism-Leninism, of proletarian internationalism, of the necessity of a socialist revolution, of the dictatorship of proletariat and of the construction of a socialist society.
We rally our forces to contribute to the theoretical and ideological reorganisation of the international communist movement on a stable Marxist-Leninist basis, despite our different approaches to tactical and strategic issues....(read further here)
It is above all a group of “old” cadres in the WPB(PVDA/PTB), so cadres who have in 1970 co-founded AMADA (Alle Macht Aan De Arbeiders -”All Power To The Workers) and have co-founded the Workers Party of Belgium (WPB/PVDA/PTB) in 1979, who are responsible for the “introduction” of revisionism in the WPB (revisionism is the BOURGEOIS political and ideological line formulated in Marxist-sounding phraseology) in order to influence the majority of the members of the WPB so that on her 8th congress in 2008, the WPB could make the by majority accepted turn to reformism (a “left”-sounding political and ideological line “protecting” in all respects capitalism) (read here further)
In the “Founding Declaration of the INITIATIVE of Communist and Workers’ Parties to study and elaborate European issues and to coordinate their activity” there are apparently some regulations and conditions difficult to digest for
communist organisations in some countries of the European Union: (read further here)

organisations do not want to go further than
“declarations on a yearly meeting” “which I sent as a mail to the Secretariat of the INITIATIVE of communist and workers' parties as well to the DKP, the CPL, the NCPN, the WPB and the KKE I did some statements about several parties. Here now some concrete arguments proving these statements (read further here)
Most important party-statements of the WPB,
not voted on congresses but DICTATED by
Peter Mertens
Originally – so people could read some time ago on the website icseminar.org – there would be in 2013 a Ninth Congress of the WPB (PVDA/PTB), on which would be discussed, amended and finally voted (“democratically by majority”), what would by the concrete and elaborated vision of the WPB on “SOCIALISM”, how capitalism would be “replaced” by socialism and what would be the concrete
revolutionary strategy of the WPB to get there.....:

Struggle against revisionism
I concluded that the critic-article of Alexandré Garcia is not a consequent Marxist analysis. In fact where he is accusing the KKE-cadre Elisseos Vagenas of dogmatism he, himself, is not free of dogmatism!
Alexandré Garcia is referring several times to the Workers Party of Belgium (WPB/PVDA/PTB) or/and to its former president Ludo Martens.
Well, I am glad for this! It give me the opportunity to prove (with the example of the negative teacher) to what opportunism can lead. Dogmatism, proof with presumed historical analogy, eclecticism, it is all used as Marxist-sounding phraseology, in order to submit the party to a revisionist ideology which lead the WPB from a revolutionary communist party to a reformist (so bourgeois, capitalism preserving/protecting) party.(read further here)
Important political analyses (to compare with analyses which were made in the KKE and then submitted to an affirmation on the 19th congress) made by Ludo Martens - when he was still by-majority-on-congresses elected president of the WPB – normally should have been discussed, eventually amended and then voted in order to be a party-point-of view which had to be assimilated by alle party-members. But those analyses, presented as “books written by Ludo Martens” were integrally – but very formally – presented as “party-points-of view” in reportsABOUT the congresses. And - in the beginning – everybody was urged “to buy, read and promote around him or her “ those books. But this “guideline” quiet down and now (while those books are not printed and sold anymore by EPO itself) the new leadership can take positions which are OPPOSING former positions.(read further here)
In 2003 appeared Boudewijn Deckers' “analysis” about(although it is more “some reflections about....”) actual socialism in China in Marxist Studies. It was called “Questions about the development of socialism in China”.1 Marxist Studies (with its website marx.be ) should be (as was said on the 8thWPB-congress in 2008 ) an important instrument for the formation in Marxism of the members and sympathizers of the WPB.(read further here)
