Janet and Martin Harris operate this organic farm in Hereford, where you can get pork, chicken and eggs, as well as top notch bottle conditioned Cider and Perry. I stopped in for tea with Martin and Janet one day, after all the apples were in. Martin was kind enough to show me around the farm and the cider house. I would like to have seen his press in operation, though that might have to wait until next time. He was running a wooden hand turned style press, but he had a motor driven chain hooked up to the turning aparatus. It was a simple enough device, but the first one I had seen. They have a cider orchard on site, and another up the road a bit, and are able to bring in cider fruit from neighboring farms from time to time. There are more awards on the walls of their sales/bottling office than you can shake a stick at. With all that acknowledgement, you know the cider must be good.
