Charlotte Belyea

Charlotte Belyea started playing violin with the Suzuki method at about 5 years old. As a Navy brat, she moved a lot, and when she ended up in 8th grade at a school with no orchestra program, she began playing saxophone. She continued saxophone and picked up oboe in high school.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music Theory / Composition, with minor in applied saxophone performance from the University of North Texas. She received her master’s degree from Southern Oregon University, and her CA teaching credential from CSU Dominguez Hills. She has been teaching music in the Santa Maria Bonita School district since 2002.

When not involved with music, she can be found participating in various outdoor activities that are available here on the central coast.
