The Student/Staff feedback is only included in the self assessment and goal setting components of the evaluation process - this is neither students evaluating educators nor educators evaluating administrators. It is a mechanism to include student or staff feedback in a meaningful and reasonable way, and should not be considered a valid or reliable measure of educator or administrator performance.
Many Educators and Administrators already integrate student/staff feedback in their practice, so they should only have to document some of their existing work. There are many different ways to gather feedback and our contract does not stipulate a particular method. The educator/administrator has a significant voice in what and how the feedback is collected to ensure that it is developmentally appropriate for students and relevant for each educator or administrator. Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas.
What you submit to your evaluator prior for the plan should be simple, e.g., I plan to use a survey and survey students; I plan to use exit tickets for my students; I plan to survey my staff; I plan to distribute a brief feedback form to staff asking how they feel about our staff meeting/PD content and structure, etc.
The Joint Evaluation Process Working Group has put together resources to support this process which are available here.
