Meetings with evaluators about evaluations are not always required, but the educator has the right to request one before or after an evaluation. The evaluator must then meet with the educator. The CEA recommends that you request a meeting with your evaluator BEFORE your evaluation if you are concerned that your evidence may not be sufficient or if you have any other concerns.
After you have received the evaluation remember that signature of an evaluation does not indicate agreement, merely receipt. You must sign within 5 days, and you also need to write a response within those 5 days for it to be included directly with the evaluation. The CEA also recommends that you not respond immediately to an evaluation that you disagree with, but let it sit for a couple of days and show it to a colleague, friend, or CEA representative. DO NOT DRAFT A RESPONSE IN TEACHPOINT. Teachpoint saves a revision history and it is not clear how often it saves. The CEA recommends that you draft your response in a different word processor such as Word, and then copy and paste your final response in. If you need more than 5 days to respond, you can reference either a letter you will submit to your file, or you can also create a note in Teachpoint.
