Assessment and Evaluation are based on 6 factors:
Progress towards attainment of Student Learning Goal
Progress towards attainment of Professional Practice Goal
Performance on Standard I: Curriculum Planning and Assessment
Performance on Standard II: Teaching All Students
Performance on Standard III: Family and Community Engagement
Performance on Standard IV: Professional Practice
There are 3 forms of Assessment and Evaluation
Formative Assessment can be done at any time, but typically mid cycle for all plans except for 2 Year Self-Directed Growth Plans. The evaluator provides written feedback on performance on each of the 4 standards, progress towards achieving the goals and overall. The evaluator can change activities in the plan after a Formative Assessment.
Formative Evaluation is done mid cycle on a 2 Year Self-Directed Growth Plan. The evaluator provides written feedback and ratings on each of the 4 standards, progress towards achieving the goals, and overall rating. The evaluator can change the activities in the plan as well as the type of plan (can change to a Directed Growth Plan or an Improvement Plan) based on the overall rating.
Summative Evaluation is done at the conclusion of all educator plans. The evaluator provides written feedback and ratings on each of the 4 standards, progress towards achieving the goals, and overall. The overall rating is used to determine the type of plan the educator will be on next.
