Uploading Photos into Broker Brain

Once a property is in the system, photographs for that property can be uploaded into Broker Brain. Photos can be added one at a time or in multiples.

Uploading a Single Photograph

1. In order to upload a photo, you must first search for and select the subject property. (See the Searching for and Editing Existing Properties Help section). Once you are on the Main page of the property, click the Photos sub tab at left. Following is the screen that will appear:

2. Click the + next to Upload New Photo to reveal the following screen:

3. From the Photo field, click Browse. Your computer’s Choose File screen will appear, allowing you to search for the desired photograph. Select your photo, and click the Open button. This will direct you back to the Upload Photo screen.

4. You can opt to add a name for the photo into the Title field, or you may leave it blank. If you give the photo a title, you will have the ability to search for it by that information at a later date. If you leave the field blank, the photo will be uploaded with the same filename it contains on your computer.

5. Specify the image type:

    • Public Image – This will place the property's photograph on your public website.

    • Poster Image – This makes the photograph the primary image for this particular property on your public website.

    • Eviction Image – This places the photograph in the photos section of the Eviction Inspections sub tab for the property.

    • General Inspection - This places the photograph in the photos section of the General Inspections sub tab for the property.

6. In the Tags field, provide any desired detail about the photo (such as photo location or date). This information can be used as search criterion later when attempting to locate a photo.

7. If this item is associated with a repair item that you have for this property, you can select that repair from the Preservation drop-down. The picture will now appear in the Preservation page of the property as well as in the Photos sub tab. (If you do not have a repair bid for this property, nothing will appear in the drop-down).

8. If the photo is associated with an inspection, select that information from the Inspection drop-down box. The picture will now appear in the Inspection page of the property as well as in the Photos sub tab. (If you do not have any inspections associated with the property, the Inspection drop-down box will be blank).

9. If you plan to use this photograph in a BPO for this property, you can select the photograph location from the BPO Type drop-down menu. The options are Front of House, Back of House, Street Scene, and Additional. If you select a BPO type for a photo, that picture will automatically be used when you create a BPO.

10. Once you have chosen all of the options that you want for the picture, click Upload. Your photo will display beneath the upload screen, along with all other uploaded photos:

Uploading Multiple Photographs

If you have more than one photo to upload, you can do it all at once using the multiple photo upload feature.

1. In order to upload a photo, you must first search for and select the subject property. (See the Searching for and Editing Existing Properties Help section). Once you are on the Main page of the property, click the Photos sub tab. Following is the screen that appear:

2. Click the + next to Upload Multiple Photos to reveal the screen below:

3. Click Browse. Your computer’s Choose File screen will appear, allowing you to select the desired photographs. Once you have selected your photos, click the Open button. This will direct you back to the Upload Photo screen. Your photos will appear in the left pane of the screen as shown:

Important:

  • If you wish to remove a file from the upload list, click the red "X".

    • If you wish to clear all of the files from the upload list, click the Clear List button

4. In the Tags field, provide any desired detail about the photo (such as photo location or date). Photos can be searched for based on this information.

Important:

    • The information you provide in the right pane of this screen will apply to all photos being downloaded. If needed, you can edit this information on individual photos after the upload.

5. Specify the image type:

    • Public Image – This will place the property's photograph on your public website.

    • Eviction Image – This places the photograph in the photos section of the Eviction Inspections sub tab for the property.

    • General Inspection - This places the photograph in the photos section of the General Inspections sub tab for the property.

6. If this item is associated with a repair item that you have for this property, you can select that repair from the Preservation drop-down. The options are Front of House, Back of House, Street Scene, and Additional. If you select a BPO type for a photo, that picture will automatically be used when you create a BPO.

9. Once you have chosen all of the options that you desire, click Upload. Depending on the number and size of the photographs you are uploading, this operation may take a few seconds or a couple of minutes.
