Similitudes
A cat I know with nature true,
Well fed and much at ease
Finds time enough for to pursue
Each mouthful that it sees.
But now it's killed our Budgie
Which was happy 'till yesterday.
I'd given it orders and I know it heard
That Budgie was not its prey.
It didn't kill nor did it eat
To ease its feline pain,
The bird slow stalked on silent feet
Was left where it was slain.
Oh cat! What remedy remains
I've taught you all I can.
But I do believe for all my pains
You much resemble man.
