Love
Resident in Heaven, detested in Hell
Sojourning on Earth since the day it first fell,
In the hearts of man it may find a little rest,
And best by far when its presence is confessed.
It's there at our birth and will be there at our death
Given to man with his very first breath.
Its attributes are happiness, contentment and health,
And when carefully used can even bring wealth.
A lack of it will often cause men to roam,
And foolish are they who expel it from their home.
When conscience strikes it can always be found
Quietly urging, giving no ground.
Hearts it can soften going in without fear
Entering deeply making sure that we hear.
So while it sojourns on the earth like a flower
Let us cherish its beauty lest it die on the bower.
