In a Dream I was Given One Wish, To Which I Replied,
"I Wish To See My G-D".
And It Was Given To Me My Wish.
All the splendour, wonder, dread,
Of a vast almighty head.
I saw of countless eyes beholding,
And of countless mouths commanding,
Crowned with garlands of star-clusters,
Clothed in garb of unknown lustre.
Breathing from a perfect presence,
Breaths of every subtle essence.
Shedding blinding radiance over all.
Boundless, endless, beautiful.
Guarding, guiding every race
With an all regarding face.
So I saw my G-d...
And if ever there should rise
Suddenly from within the skies
Star-bursts of a thousand suns
With beams undreamed of,
Only then might be
The Lord my G-d's full majesty
Be seen of.
