Here are some details about my homebrewed CAI (Cold Air Intake).
Here you can see how I shortened the OEM engine air intake hose, and modified the mount clamp then extended it. I also added this plastic baffle to help separate the cool air admitted from my functioning "cheek" vents from the hotter engine compartment air. The baffle was cut from a rectangular black plastic garbage can and bolted in various places to the subframe.
Looking under the baffle, this close-up shows the extension mount that I fabricated in order to hold the air intake hose in place. It bolts to an existing nut that is mounted to the subframe.
