01d - Rear Speakers Detail

Here are some details on my rear speakers (pictures were taken after the install was complete):

This picture shows my homebrew speaker adaptor plates (made from 3/4" thick particle board) and where I mounted the crossover module. The 3-level switch on the crossover module can be accessed via a small hole cut in the front of the door panel.

I secured the crossover module to the door with two sheet metal screws (one screw is hidden in this picture).

This picture shows the small hole cut in the front of the door panel to access the 3-level switch on the crossover module. The "+" sign reminds me which position adds more highs to the sound. There are 3 positions: 0 dB, +3 dB, and +6 dB.

I bought some foam weatherstrip tape to help seal the new door speaker against the rim inside the plastic door panel.

Here is the foam tape stuck to the speaker frame. It seals nicely to rim in the plastic door panel.
