Here are some details on how I mounted my foglights.
This picture shows the Simpson StrongTie foundation straps bent into a U shape, then bolted to the top and bottom of the plastic grill. The foglights hang down from the bracket.
Originally I was going to attach the foglights to the metal bumper, but it became difficult to align. Also the metal used on the bumper is very tough. I ended up with this mounting scheme, and having to notch the metal bumper to clear the foglight mount nuts.
In hindsight, instead of hanging the foglights, I should have mounted them standing up (with the attachment nut under the foglight instead of on top). Doing so would have allowed the foglight mount nuts to clear the metal bumper.
The OEM wires to the foglights seemed very thin to me, so I added this relay. It is mounted below the battery on the subframe. Power for the foglights is taken from the battery via a fused line.
