The music

It's 7am, the Channel 4 continuity announcer has just made a witty remark and your ears are being massaged by the familiar and comforting sound of the Big Breakfast theme tune. Back in 1992 composer David Arnold was asked to provide the theme music for the show. He did't disappoint and although it was remixed a few times over the decade the show was on air the main melody never changed. Here's a collection of the different versions of The Big Breakfast theme tune.

Around the time of the 2000th show producer Ed Forsdick wanted the theme refreshed and turned to Garage band Artful Dodger who had a series of massive UK chart hits to remix the classic David Arnold theme.

2001 Relaunch

For the 2001 relaunch the music was remixed and given a more lively beat by 'Sonic Sound Studios' who have also worked for Channel 4's Big Brother, Chris Moyles Radio 1 show and I'm A Celebrity
