Housey Housey

Was it a shameless advertising gimmick? Who cares it worked.

It May 1994 it was announced that The Big Breakfast was building an exact replica of the house somewhere in Great Britain.

For the next 6 weeks viewers were invited to play 'Housey Housey' using gamecards posted through their doors. Every day viewers were teased by being shown the new house under construction which was later revealed as being in Telford. Viewers were asked to match 3 blue objects on their cards daily. If, after 6 weeks, you had 50 or more objects you phoned in to register your card for the draw for the house.

Sadly A Load of Bow Locks has discovered that the winner sold the house and it was converted into three separate flats!

Below you can find a scan of the infamous Housey Housey gamecard! Weirdly, Mark Little was chosen to appear on the card rather than main presenter Chris Evans who was concentrating on Don't Forget Your Toothbrush at the time.
