RE: Screen/Storm Entry Doors
In response to resident requests to the Environmental Preservation Committee for approval of screen/storm entry doors, this memo serves to advise residents of standing EPCOM approval of such an installation that conforms to the following standards:
Through approval of storm/screen doors installed in the manner described above, the EPCOM intends its action to facilitate resident efforts towards energy conservation. The screen section promotes better cross ventilation which reduces air-conditioning requirements in the summer, and the storm section reduces heating costs during cold weather.
A pictorial example of the type of door approved for installation is attached.
Other styles of storm/screen [doors] may be submitted for approval on case-by-case basis, but such submittals are not encouraged.
If you have any questions concerning the above, you should contact the EPCOM Chairman, Steve Seawright, at (301) 657-7126.
