An owner's name may appear on his home only on the occupant's entry door, and then only in accordance with approval of the EPCOM [ARC]. House numerals for street addresses shall not be increased in size above the size installed originally by the Declarant.

Whereas greeting plaques, name plaques, hex symbols and historic markers surface mounted [on] Back Creek Landing homes are required to be submitted for approval by The Back Creek Landing Community Service Association Environmental Preservation Committee (EPCOM) and
Whereas the EPCOM and Community Service Association Board of Directors regard the addition of such plaques and markers as being consistent with the aesthetic of home in Back Creek Landing and
Whereas the EPCOM desires to achieve a certain measure of consistency in the selection and placement of such accessory features,
Now Therefore Be it Resolved that entry greeting plaques are approved, without the necessity of formal submittal to the EPCOM, so long as such plaques conform [to] the following guidelines:
Plaque Size
Plaque marker size shall not exceed 1.5 square feet.
Plaque Lettering
Plaque words or lettering must be of a size that the plaque can not be read from a distance greater than 20 feet. No lettering applied by a wood burning tool or consisting of a rope is to be applied to the plaque.
Colors
Plaques should be stained or painted a color in appropriate contrast to the siding of the home. Not permitted under this "standing approval resolution" are natural woods, finished only with varnish or shellac.
Materials
Plaques may be made from wood, metal or plastic so long as plaque color is as described above. Excluded from this "standing approval resolution" are plaques consisting of shiny metals on glazed ceramics.
Plaque Placement
All plaques approved pursuant to this resolution should be located on a wall surface within the front porch recess or within 2 feet of the corner of the porch recess.
This resolution is not intended to limit the opportunity for homeowners to seek EPCOM approval of plaques which differ from the pre-approved guidelines described herein, but application for such approval must be requested separately and is not exempted by the resolution.
In Witness Whereof, the EPCOM approves the foregoing Resolution this 14th day of April, 2003.
