Tell us your story and receive a free copy of Down With Acid lite.
This is in conjunction with World Barrett's Day, 16 May 2025.
Down With Acid is the free online encyclopaedia that is 10 years old this year.
Because it's now too big to print we have produced a slimmed down version covering all the most essential parts of the encyclopaedia.
Printed copies of DWA lite are for sale as described here: DWA lite
To get a free copy, just send us your story about being diagnosed or living with Barrett's Oesophagus for our new "My Barrett's" section or your account of undergoing a procedure to add to our Patient Experiences section.
For every story we use, we'll send you a free copy of Down With Acid.
Your story will have it's own page and can contain text and pictures but will be kept anonymous unless you wish your name to be shown.
N.B. Anything published on this site may be used by news media but they will only be able to access the details you decide to include in your story.
We may need to edit your account but wish to keep it as near original as possible. If we do edit it, we'll send you the amended text for your approval before publishing it.
To participate:
Just write an account of how you were diagnosed with Barrett's Oesophagus or what it's like living with the condition or both.
You may include pictures if you wish.
Please do not name any particular people, hospitals or clinics unless you provide us with confirmation of them granting permission.
Email it to support@Barretts.org.uk
Let us know if you are happy to have your name shown. The default is it will be kept anonymous and may be given a pseudonym - which you may suggest if you wish.
If we get any press requests to use your story, would you be happy for us to say yes to them? We will let you know but we will not give your details to anyone without your express permission.
A copy of DWA lite will be sent to you by post. Please provide us with a suitable postal address for that purpose. Your details will not be kept after use.
