We have had a request from a first-year PhD student at Queen’s University Belfast, funded by All Ireland Cancer Network (AllCaN). Alongside Professors Martin Dempster and Olinda Santin, I am conducting research into the psychological impact of living with Barrett’s Oesophagus in both patient and their carers.
Our study aims to explore how individuals and their families experience and cope with the condition, identify the types of support they feel are needed, and ultimately inform policymakers and healthcare providers to improve services and awareness.
Participation in the study will be entirely voluntary and designed to be as flexible and convenient as possible. Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams, allowing participants to choose a time that suits their schedule.
We are seeking to recruit participants from North and South of Ireland through trusted community channels.
