Breath Test

Chris's story of the "Bags of Breath" test.

This is the easiest test I ever had, as part of a trial. (It is hoped this will be rolled out in the next few years.)

On the desk was a simple plastic box with an empty plastic bag attached to it by two short, thin, metal tubes.

I was asked to just breath out gently into a tube - no blowing needed.

The plastic bag inflated and that was all that was required. The nurse turned off the inlet tap and pressed a switch on the plastic box. A pump pulled my breath into the two metal tubes which were then sealed off and detached to send to the lab for analysis.
