Standard doses of PPIs are 20mg omeprazole, 30mg lansoprazole, 40mg pantoprazole, 20mg rabeprazole, 20mg esomeprazole, 30mg dexlansoprazole. These are fequently doubled to help heal oesophagitis or gastritis.

Most PPIs are no longer covered by copyright so cheaper generic versions may be made by other pharmaceutical companies. However they must be identical to the original or face needing reaccreditation as a new drug.
One difference, however, is apparent that has caused some people cofusion and that is the appearance of the drug.
They are usually capsules, though some can come as a hard tablet. Different manufacturers have chosen to use different coloured gels to the capsules which is where confusion may lie.
