ANSWER 5

5. Does the sun rise in the east? (this is a trick question so think about it)

The Sun does NOT rise in the east every day of the year. Only twice in a year, on 21 March and 21 September it rises exactly in the east and sets exactly in the west.

This is because of the Earth's tilted axis, which makes the Sun shift its rise and set by up to 23.5 degrees south or north of the exact east or west.

If you follow where the Sun is rising or setting every few weeks, you will notice from the shadows and sunlight that sometimes the Sun comes straight into the window while at other times of the year it does not. This shows the movement of the Sun during the year.
