The Topic:
There are a number of common iconographies and motifs in Roman funerary art. The bibliography below explores a variety of them, concentrating on the very prevalent garland motif. However, the bibliography provides works that introduce the various aspects of Roman funerary art if you wish to pursue another area of funerary iconography or decoration.
