The topic:
Eleusis was a sanctuary just outside of the city of Athens, dedicated to the goddesses Demeter and Persephone / Kore, where a mystery cult was located. Anyone who spoke Greek could be initiated into the Mysteries, which promised a better afterlife to the initiates. Studies exploring Eleusis and the Mysteries will deal with both archaeology and Greek religion, and there is a good deal of interesting iconography associated with the goddesses worshipped and the mystery cult itself.
