anything in parenthesis is usually just my chatter)(to myself - you
dont have to read that - lol)
meeting was held via the internet - chairman connor was apparently in florida
mention of wiring up some bld by april
meeting called to order at 703 pm ish after preston got unmuted
connors asked nagle if cable tv is recording the meeting - nagle said
yes - (we checked acmi at yt - there was no live feed of the meeting)
chris and lisa were online - aha staff
"someone on a phone" - maybe a non aha person - (they watch like a
hawk to see who is in on the meeting - 99% chance they know who is
listening because 100% chance they see the dial in phone numbers - lol
- I dint type "lol" initially - but we have cleaned this up before
posting to the GalacticNet)
per nagle - hauser fire alarm repairs / replacement started monday -
change order for $155,00 to change sprinkler heads - no reason given
why sprinkler heads have to be changed - electrical tests were done at
hauser and chestnut - tenants were evacuated for 1 day - chestnut work
starts next month - (??) - 6 offers were made to new tenants at
chestnut - (no mention of how many apts have been reoccupied in total
since the mega fire) - airsource heat pumps have been installed at
winslow - residents with initial units are pleased - (no mention that
this is a highly experimental installation) - in next couple of weeks
hope to get provider approved by dhcd for menotomy windows - no
proposals received in reply to rfp for a affordable condo unit - xmas
party was held at menotomy
708 pm - garr asks about item 14 sprinklers- nagle reports new agenda
was posted - some item numbers apparently changed
ED salary is 90% of state recommended level - this is mandated by his contract
accountant richard conlon went over budget - mentioned a pdf that was
not provided to the public - (note - selectmen in recent years have
offered full documentation before their meetings - only in last 5 to 7
years however - democracy at its best - lol lol lol)
contract accountant conlon went thru some numbers - (budgets seem to
be very convoluted - with high reserves required and various types of
capital expenditures - have never seen this in any fire department
budgets - but we only had 1 accounting class in college 4 decades ago)
- (note - conlon is not listed on the aha contact page on their
website - nor is attorney grecco)
benefits up .27% which is $3,000 - (thats "point 27 %)
400 fund has 41% reserve - 35% is required
per conlon - "we are in good shape" financially
722 pm - attorney john grecco talked briefly about the menotomy manor
proposed mou - said it was standard dhcd boilerplate with a few
"minor" changes - he needed to look it over morely
item 13 - new development for special residents at 54 medford st -
town has not committed to make Maple St property available yet - (???)
-
Badilla started to talk about Menotomy MOU - Connor says he sees no
need for it - we are already mandated by dhcd to do those things -
will send out mou again to board members - badilla asks - will it hold
us more accountable? - badilla asks if all LTOs are recognized - Jen
hernandez can talk about it later - Preston says no LTO at Drake -
Connor says it is ?Joe?
back to 54 medford st development - have $2.1M to build the building -
we looked at it years ago but "it ran out of gas" - (AND Keefe funeral
home didnt want it iirc) - voted to get process rolling - dhcd will
pick developer or planner or whatever - will be many more votes and
meetings - (lol - sure there will - like the $300M high school project
- we want lots of input from the public - here is the $300M plan - do
you want 1 or 2 ornate columns at the front door? - two - OK good -
thank you for your input - lol lol lol)
item 14 - window replacement and envelope repair at winslow towers -
subcontractor walked off the job - WHAT? - need to approve change
order to finish "sounding" of the bld and finish the envelope repairs
- (sounding means beating on the bld randomly randomly with a sledge
hammer to see how it sounds - (???)
item 15 - air handler on roof on hauser bld is expired - need 300K
500K maybe 1M to replace it
item 16 - 155K more for fire alarm system at hauser - (does the new
alarm system include voice capability? no - why not? - because -
because why? - just because - lol lol lol - more silly stuff - why
would you spend $1M to replace a system with a new system that has NO
extra capabilitys - just to get back where you started? - because that
is how the usa operates - just follow the rules -don't think about
anything - just follow the rules)
item 17 - menotomy study of some sort - preston wants more up to date
flood info - climate change will raise water level 1 foot - we need to
know about this before doing work - (reading between the lines - when
the glaciers fall into the ocean - the manor will become little venice
- think about it - the manor is probably below the mystic river and
alewife brook - and mystic river connects to boston harbor which
connects to antarctica - if you look at hazmit info you will see that
chestnut manor is gonna become chestnut on the nile also - bet me)
item 18 - trish horgan need more hours - gonna go from 18 to 26 weekly
- she is tenant coordinator - (maybe lead coordinator - maybe not)
public participation - rules tweaked - now nagle has until friday to
put agenda online - public needs to request to speak on or before
tuesday - (with holiday weekends that is 1 day - (they constantly are
trying to censor out any and all public input into the meetings) - no
commissioners objected - this item was NOT mentioned on the agenda for
this meeting - which is hilarious of course - we gave no notice about
not giving notice about anything)
Jen spoke from Menotomy Manor - had 80% turnout at xmas party - re MOU
- struggling to communicate with AHA - 12 months and nothing gets done
- Connor says "I would never sign an agreement (like this)" -
[apparently Connor has no clue what a LTO MOU is - and that it comes
direct from DHCD and is available via the massTrialCourts website - so
obviously it is a very important thing - and that tenant organizations
are explicitly listed in every tenants lease - and if none of the
other tenant organizations have a MOU - what does that indicate? ]
Badilla says - we can improve
Preston says - we can accomplish more
the other 2 commissioners say nothing
nagle says we will draw up a list of our accomplishments
hernandez will send a list of unmet expectations to connor and board
ish - wishes a merry holiday - (kinda sounded like f u to me but what
do i know)
Connor says 8 attendees on meeting - 6 are aha affiliated - this isn't
the BOS - we dont deal in juicy items - attendance is way down -
(sounds like gloating if you think about it - we have driven the
rabble rousers and LWV away - WE WIN! - millions upon millions being
spent - is there any real financial oversight? - but I digress)
garr T reports that nick got award as rotarian of the year due to his
volunteer activities - congratulations all around
755 pm - adjourned
(all commisares were present - sandy took notes - we took notes also
because ....)
the players
executive director john nagle / jack nagle
commissioners - brian connnor fiorella badilla joanne preston nick
mitropoulos garr talanian
attorney john grecco
accountant richard conlon
spelling errors are mine or their parents for giving them those names
- lol - spell checker just corrected nick m last name - lol - thats
cool
ps - no mention about the victim of the fire at chestnut manor and no
mention of the fd response - nor any mention of ems in blds - no
mention of hurricanes or bld collapses or nuclear war or any such
thing - but climate change did come up once
