Joint Services Set For 3 Crash Victims

Joint funeral services for three victims in a plane crash Thursday night on Deskins Mountain, Va., that killed five person will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday.

Funeral services for James Garnett, (Pete) Richardson, 31, Billy Burton (Red) Keene, 32, and Jimmie Jackson Jr., 20, all of Richlands, Va. will be at the Richlands Tabernacle.

Pete Richardson:

Born at Raven, Va., Richardson was a son of Mrs. Beulah Belle Webb Richardson of Cedar Bluff, Va. and the late Garnett Richardson. He had resided in the Richlands and Raven areas his entire life and was the owner and operator of Pete's Motors in Richlands, a mobile home dealer and engaged in the construction business.

He was a member of Richlands Masonic Lodge No. 318, the Scottish Rite Bodies and Kazim Temple of Roanoke, Va., the Tazewell-Russell Shrine Club. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacel.

Survivors in addition to his mother include his widow, Mrs. Ginger Martin Richardson; two daughters, Jamie Ellene and Jeannie Lynn Richardson of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Troy W. (Kay) Absher and Macqueline Richardson of Cedar Bluff, Va.; two brothers, Jack and Dowell Richardson of Cedar Bluff.

Rev. Grat Horton, Rev. Carter Wells and Rev. Gene Huff will officiate at the service.

Entombment will follow in Greenhills Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Va.

Pallbearers will be B.W. McDonald, J.W. Clifton, Roscoe Smith, Curtis Whittaker, Tommy Wilson, Darrell McGhee, James Russ Jr., Dewey Holmes, Robert (Bob) Mullins and Dean Slate.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Dickens, Roger Whited, Steve Miller, Gary Barrett, Herman Hubbard Jr., Charlie Simmons, Sherman Markin, Mike Wittacker, Joe Absher, Ray Houchins, Bob Nassis, Jack Altizer and Lonzo Presley.

Members of the Richlands Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic Services.

Red Keene:

Born in Buchanan County, Va., Keene was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Garlie J. Keene of Richlands. He had resided in the Richlands area his entire life and the co-owner of Sportsman's Motors of Richlands. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle.

Survivors in addition. To his parents include his widow, Mrs. Frances Smith Keene; one daughter, Connie Leigh Keene of the home; two sons, Billy Dale and Darryl Keene of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Douglas (Geradline) VanDyke and Mrs. Kathleen Boyd of Richlands, Mrs. Johnny (Shelby Jean) Smith of Cedar Bluff and Mrs. Ronnie (Peggy) Pinkerton of Doran, Va.; three brothers, Hubert F. Keene of Akron, Ohio, Jimmy Keene of Claypool Hill, Va. and Ronnie Keene of Cedar Bluff.

Rev. Grat Horton and Rev. Ancil Childress will officiate the service.

Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Walt Cantrell, Leonard Gilbert, Raymond McGlothlin, Louie Ray Codie Harman, Bill Robinson, Tom Greene, William Hess, and Mack Matney.

Jimmie Jackson, Jr.:

Born in Richlands, Jackson was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Jackson of Richlands.

He had resided in the Richlands area his entire life and was a graduated of Richlands High School Class of 1973. He was employed as service manager of Pete's Motors and was a member of Richlands Tabernacle.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his widow, Mrs. Retha Dye Jackson; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harve Young of Jewell Ridge, Va.; the paternal grandfather, Luthur Jackson of Jewell Ridge; the paternal step grandmother, Mrs. Luther Jackson of Jewell Ridge; one sister Rebecca Jackson of Richlands.

Rev. Grat Horton, Rev. Ralph Horton, Robert Osborne and Rev. Bobby Mills will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Joe Absher, Roger Whited, Steve Miller, Jerry Barrett, Sherman Martin and Mike Whittaker.

The bodies will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

Thomas Douglas Justice, 29, of Rt. 1, Hurley, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior William Justice of Hurley.

Additional survivors are his wife, Anita Justice; one son, William Thomas Justice at home; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Clevenger and Mrs. Billie Ann Brown, both of Hurley and Miss Carol Beana Justice at home; three brothers, Charles Harold Justice, Hershel Kenneth Justice and Christopher Jarrell Justice, all of Hurley; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Winnie David of Eustus, Fla., and the paternal grandfather, Australia Justice of Hurley.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Kelsa Church of Christ with Mike Trent and Joel Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenhill Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
