Rt. 460 Entrance (existing entrance) - 600 feet to 0.44 acre trailhead parking lot with informational kiosk - part of Coal Heritage Trail.

Trail would mostly utilize existing paths for 1.9 miles to Red Jacket Coal mine entrance.

Original Kentucky Turnpike Wall ~1830's
Union General Burbridge brought 5,000 troops across this road to attack Saltville, Virginia in 1864.

Red Jacket Coal Company hired Italian stonemasons.
