QUESTION: One asked, “So how to you suggest I handle boredom? Or disappointment?”

Disappointment comes from feeling we have not obtained something that we feel we should have or have a right to. Boredom comes from not understanding our significance to God and his calling for us in his Kingdom now and for eternity.

Giving praise, glory and gratefulness to God is the first step to overcoming boredom or disappointment since it takes our focus off of our own loss and shifts to what God has given us...physical life, health, provision, love, strength, ....eternal life.

Often we don't naturally turn to praising God since we have such a small and shallow view of Him. Studying his character can help us get a greater understanding in the overwhelming goodness, greatness and gentleness of God in our lives.

And not having a great enough understanding of who God is, can often lead us to not have an appreciation for how horrible our sin of not giving him sufficient praise, acknowledgement and obedience hurts Him and His ability to give us even greater things.

Turn to His Word to know Him, turn to Him in Praise and give Him the Glory He deserves, and pray for passion to love Him and to love the lost.

Here are two major commands sets and just one from the Psalms that cover every moment, of every day, all the time:

Phil 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful (fearful, anxious, or in depression) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your aiteo/requests be made known unto God.”

1 Thess 5:16 “Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

And how about this one?

Ps 150:6 “Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. [Now you rise up right now and] Praise ye the Lord.”

Now what times of day or night are left out of “always,” “nothing” “everything,” “without ceasing,” or “evermore?”

So if you are in boredom, know you are in sin, because that which is not of faith is sin, and faith is the joyful expectation of coming good. And joy means exuberant jumping, shouting, yelling, arm waving, screaming, gladness, prancing, dancing and running behaviors.

So if you are in faith, then I can tell by your joy behaviors. If you are not in these joy behaviors, do not insult my or anyone else’s intelligence by claiming you are in faith. Your pompous religiosity that denies this may be the dominant force in your life right now, but know that attitude has been so condemned that God had Jesus suffer and die for it so you could get free of it.

And that deadpan life will not be in heaven. And since our job is to bring heaven to earth, we have been commanded to include that with the exuberant behaviors of biblical thanksgiving, praise, joy, glory and fear not, right now in this life.

You may say, “I’ve seen God do lots without those exuberant behaviors,” and I say, “What have you denied God by your willful ignorance and arrogance?”

I say you have been commanded by the Living God to always be full of Holy Spirit in every aspect of your life, and in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy = jumping, shouting, yelling, screaming, dancing, arm waving and happy behaviors.

This is what it looks like, and it continues for a long time. So yes obedience to God will make you strong and healthy and disobedience turns your muscles to jelly.

So your lack of joy behavior means you are willfully denying Holy Spirit areas of your life and you still are in sin. Are you going to defend your sin and not rejoice in the grace of God?

Modern science has discovered that emotions are a result of what you think, speak and do first. You do not wait for the emotions, you start doing things that fit the emotions you want or have been commanded to produce. That you have not noticed this process means this is a subconscious mind or heart process where the results come a few minutes after you place the demand.

So if you want to feel the joy of the Lord, start doing joy thoughts, words and actions until your proper emotions arise. And keep doing it until it become the unconscious habit of your life.

But the other way around has filled our culture. “I can’t do it because I don’t feel like it” garbage that has filled the Western Christian Church. Or even worse, “Put on a fake smile and go to church – I will not as I am suffering now! If I do that I will not be true to my authentic self!” But putting on that “happy face” and doing joy behaviors is exactly how you obey theseBible commands.

That pernicious teaching calls God a liar in this command:

James 1:2 “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”

So much of our common Western Christian Culture has been filled with this demonic advice and twisted views of reality that keep people in bondage, especially born-again Christians whose real self is made in righteousness and true holiness and only delights in being just like Jesus 24×7.

So which is more real, your momentary twisted emotions or the truth of God’s Word? And you majoring in that which can be shaken and foregoing that which cannot be shaken? What do you really want?

The reason you are suffering now in your “inner man” is because you are allowing your flesh-dominated mind to continually accept and repeat these demonic thoughts, and thus let the devil control you and find fault with the right ways of God. So you do that instead of recognizing you are calling God a liar.

The answer is to go to the Scriptures and find promise verses that fit your circumstances and proclaim them rather than those demonic boredom thoughts. And then go do thanksgiving, praise, joy, glory and fear not (i.e. bold courageous) actions until those are your emotions. Then go do some good to somebody if you are still bored.

This is summarized many places in the Bible, such as this one:

The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

And if your mind is screaming what I am saying is not true, then you need the “OK, GOD, Now What?” heart magnetization refresher to operate in who you really are, an earthen vessel that houses the Lord God of All Creation. There are other ways, but they all take longer and thus leave in you sin longer. So how much corruption of the flesh do you want to keep planting? … and reaping?

And if you by the grace of God do start to obey these 1500 Bible commands that cover every breath you take, and your mind is still screaming at you, command that voice to be gone in the name of Jesus and start seeking the Lord to help you clean out your heart as you have become offended in God or others, and that is now controlling you. So again, that resistance in you is not of God, but the devil and your job is to work with Holy Spirit to root it out.

For the born again Christian the only authentic you is the one made a new creation in Jesus, any other is a lie of the devil.

And the longer you tolerate those lies in not renewing your mind, the longer you are building death into your life. The neurons that support these wicked thoughts are pumping toxins into your body while you argue or find fault with me or others, including God. You control how much toxicity you walk in. And that includes boredom and your lack of thanksgiving, praise, joy, glory and fear-not behaviors.

We are destroyed, walk in failure, fear and confusion, by lack of knowledge and lies, not some administrative decision by God.

Do the right things and you will get the right results; do anything different and you will be unhappy sooner or later. Digital Universe.

Evil works inspired and powered by the devil are no match for the Living God, but they sure tempt fleshly leaky neurons, even in those spiritually righteous.

There are no wrong answers here, only seek more of Jesus who already paid for every failure we ever made, are making now, or will make. Since He was healed of it, so are you.

It will be shameful for you to show up on the Day of Judgment and see that every hardness of heart was already healed and waiting for you to do the right labour to get that hardness of heart healing already done in Jesus.

A Bible not devoured is like bags of seed stored away. The potential of God into the Earth is there, but never a harvest is made. Jesus is the Seed. The only soil that matters is your heart.

Eph 4:20 “But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

So boredom is an example the corruption of deceitful lust.

So who do you know that is bored and needs the gift of life in Jesus?
