Building a strong team is fundamental for success. Whether in a contact center or any multi person business platform, having reliable and dependable people is critical to win.
There are so many layers which make up a winning team. It all starts with building a trustworthy foundation, having a strong leader, and a clear understanding of the members' strengths and weaknesses (team member positions).
What makes a winning team? Practice, devotion, and the ability to pick back up quickly to any failures along the way are just a few of the areas winning teams are able to manage. Having a strong communication strategy with an open to opinions culture, allows for flexibility and sense of ownership in a group setting.
Winning teams assist each other to get to the finish line. They focus on the end goal result and work together to get their. Every team member has an important role in reaching the goal, and work together in every play to get there.
Building a winning team takes planning, picking the right players, and also including training and development. The coach (leader / manager) drives the strategy and playbook to the there. Having experienced leaders with expertise on and off the field is a key element to the winning recipe.
I have been fortunate enough to have a gamut of strong leaders during my career as well as so many great players on my teams along the way. The core competencies have always been centered around the task at hand and reaching a positive end result.
Whether its an everyday team you manage, or one for a special project or initiative, having the right players to lead and take ownership of the challenge is key to get to that finish line first!
