Leadership Development
Any organization with a developed Operations Team should know their strengths and areas of opportunity. There are many factors that lead to strengths and weaknesses, perhaps exterior influences including other business partners, leadership, and front line employees.
Analyzing production data and employee behaviors should provide a general temperature of the operation. Dissecting the available performance data, and pinpointing root cause to each component provides a view at where the areas of opportunity are found.
Upon analyzing root cause there may be additional finds inside the leadership team. The find may provide an area driven by managerial interaction that is lacking leadership components. In order to develop and/or enforce expectations to meet objectives a deep dive into the individual strengths and weaknesses may be necessary. The finding would be utilized to create an action plan to develop the individual or relocate based on policy or organizational protocol.
Calling out strengths and weaknesses is a delicate matter. A success driven mindset is necessary in order to confront and overcome these obstacles. The manner in which leadership shortcomings are handled, is dependent on the level of severity towards the operation the objective not being met has impacted. On the other hand strengths should be utilized to influence the weakness in an attempt to find balance leading to a healthier more productive operation.
